Curiosity Scholarship: Deadline Extended—Apply by December 31
Good news for Alaska students: the Curiosity Scholarship deadline is now December 31. If you’ve been drafting ideas or waiting for the right moment, this is your sign to finish strong and submit before year-end.
What the Scholarship Is
- Amount: $1,000
- Who can apply: Alaska college students enrolled in a two- to five-year program
- GPA requirement: None
We created this scholarship to honor the community that shaped us—and to support students who ask good questions, think critically, and serve Alaska with courage and heart.
What to Submit (by Dec 31)
- A 2–4 minute video responding to one of two prompts (upload to YouTube).
- A 500-word essay that expands on your video.
- Your YouTube link included with the essay.
How to Stand Out
- Pick a real problem you care about. Tie it to Alaska—your community, your campus, your field.
- Tell a clear story. A focused narrative beats flashy edits.
- Be practical and hopeful. Show us how curiosity leads you to concrete steps, not just big ideas.
- Follow the checklist. Hit the time and word counts, proofread, and submit all pieces together.
After You Apply
We’ll review submissions after the deadline and announce the recipient following our review. If you’d like a reminder or update, send us a quick note and we’ll add you to the notification list.
